Synopsis
A wandering monk who strays far from the Buddha’s teachings—that is Gedobo (Hitoshi Ozawa). His eyes see only the fate of evil festering in this world. Masuba (Yoshiyuki Yamaguchi), working tirelessly as an underboss, grows weary of a world where even his boss has abandoned honor for money. Dissatisfied with life in a clan without jingi (duty and humanity), he drifts further into frustration. One day, Masuba encounters a monk begging on the roadside.
The monk warns him: “Be careful. Darkness is trying to swallow you whole.” At that moment, Masuba’s destiny begins to shift…
