Synopsis
In 1575 Transylvania, Captain Szymon Mroczek is sent by Prince Stephen Báthory to Warsaw to win support for his royal bid. Along the way he rescues Agata, disguised as a man, from a witchcraft trial, and they become inseparable allies. As Báthory marries Anna Jagiellon and ascends the throne, Mroczek navigates court intrigues, battles old friend Samuel Zborowski, and ultimately confronts Jan Zamoyski’s ambitions.
